Jose Riveiro's rotation policy to benefit Orlando Pirates' Kwame Peprah?

Jose Riveiro's rotation policy to benefit Orlando Pirates' Kwame Peprah?

Orlando Pirates' biggest challenge so far has been scoring goals, and head coach Jose Riveiro will be working on solutions after defeat against Maritzburg United.

Pirates' 1-0 defeat against Maritzburg was the third time they had failed to score a goal in a match from their seven league outings.

The Buccaneers have only scored four goals so far in the league, which is a small return for a side with ambitions of challenging for the league title.

The more worrying factor for the Soweto giants is that three of their four goals have come from players who play at the back, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Paseka Mako and Deon Hotto (who has been converted into a wing-back).

Orlando Pirates missed the chance to move top of the DStv Premiership table after a 1-0 defeat to Maritzburg United:

New signing, striker Bienvenu Eva Nga has not found the back of the net since scoring on debut in a narrow 1-0 victory over Swallows.

Eva Nga's woes in front of goal has seen Riveiro give Zakhele Lepasa, who spent the majority of last season injured, a run in his rotation policy.

However, Lepasa has also fired blanks in front of goal despite getting clear chances, although one of the reasons could be that he is still finding his match rhythm after a long-term injury.

One of the other strikers waiting for his chance to prove his worth under new coach is forward Kwame Peprah.

Peprah seems to have fallen down the pecking order in the strikers department with only one start and two substitute appearances in the league so far.

The Ghanaian was the go-to man for Pirates upfront last season, as he made a total of 25 league appearances out of 30 matches, with 18 starts and 7 games off the bench.

For his contribution, the 21-year scored seven goals in his first season in the DStv Premiership.

Peprah was also a regular in Pirates' run towards the final of the CAF Confederation Cup with 11 appearances, ten as a starter and scored one goal.

Pirates will resume their league duties when they host TS Galaxy, a side with the best defence of only one goal conceded so far, on Saturday evening at Orlando Stadium.

Given Eva Nga and Lepasa's woes in front of goal, should Riveiro give Peprah a chance to stake his claim in the line-up? Let us know in the comment section below!
