The Saudi Pro League has been a massive talking point in recent weeks, thanks to the large sums of money being used to purchase players entering the twilight stages of their careers. It all started with Cristiano Ronaldo when he signed for Al Nassr on a mouthwatering $200 million a year.
Saudi Arabia was also the home for a local talent in the coaching department, Pitso Mosimane, although he has since moved on tot he United Arab Emirates.
"Jingles" coached Al Ahli to promotion from the second division but later announced that he was yet to be paid for the last five months of his tenure. This is hugely contradictory to the sums of money coming out of the country!
Ronaldo, meanwhile, recently slammed European leagues and the American top flight alike, saying he is up for the challenge and that he is ready to compete for trophies in the Middle East!
