Sad news for gaming fans this week as it was announced that CD Projekt, makers of worldwide hits such as The Witcher, have delayed the release of their next big game Cyberpunk 2077.
It was with mixed feelings that fans reacted to the announcement since it the game was already delayed from earlier this year to September 2020 and now it seems the game won't be ready for purchase until 19 November 2020.

CD Projekt Red prides themselves on being a developer that creates memorable experiences that you as a player will want to spend stacks of time playing and if we look at their last game, The Witcher 3, even though the game launched in 2015, it still has retained some of its highest player numbers to this date – naturally assisted by the release of the Netflix series in 2019.
The developer posted an update on Twitter where it stated that the game simply needs a bit more time. They did mention that the game development was going well and is actually finished from a gameplay and content perspective. Even the quests, skills and cutscenes are there. The issue now is that there appear to be numerous bugs and balancing issues that need to be addressed.
It's always hard to hear about the games we are most excited for being delayed, but in our opinion a game should be delayed and finished properly, meeting the developer's creative vision, rather than for it to be rushed out simply to meet a deadline.
We've seen countless games that were rushed out incomplete and it was several months before they were fixed (if they even were ever fixed). Unfinished and broken games hurt customers who will often waste their money on pre-ordering the game, only to receive a broken mess – so we definitely encourage game developers to take their time and make sure they are happy with the product they ship.
With the release date being pushed out to mid-November, it will be interesting to see how close it will be to the release of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, both expected to launch during that period (before the holiday rush). CD Projekt Red, being the good guys that they are have already said that anyone who purchases the game for the current generation of consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X version free of charge.
We are certainly looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077, (it stars Keanu Reeves, what more could you want?) and definitely believe that the game will be worth the wait.
