Chiefs Enter The Race For Downs & Bucs Target?

Soccer Laduma had previously reported on interest in Tshepang Moremi from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

Now, Siya sources have indicated that Kaizer Chiefs have also entered the fray for the Bafana Bafana forward's signature.

Sources close to the developments have added that Amakhosi may have made inquiries about Moremi, although no official agreement has been reached with Usuthu as of yet.

"As of now we can say that Tshepang (Moremi) is the most wanted player at the club. Mamelodi Sundowns have already made an official offer though it seems they will have it tough from rivals Orlando Pirates and now Kaizer Chiefs have also made inquires about him," said the Siya source.

"The club is still looking at the highest bidder which at first looked like Sundowns but things are changing every day. You know how football business has become these days. So for now Chiefs have joined the race to have Moremi for next season and we have to wait until the end of the season which is just a week away to see what will happen," the source told Soccer Laduma.

In addition, another Siya source close to Usuthu indicated that the club's preference is for a deal that could involve both money and a player, as they aim to fill the potential void left by Moremi's departure.

"The club would look more for a money plus player swap deal as they still need their player but that will all depend on the talks and which team eventually signs Tshepang (Moremi). As we told you before, now all the big three are interested in him and they have all inquired about his services. Sundowns look all set but the competition is high now," the source observed.

23-year-old Moremi, who is part of the provisional Bafana Bafana 36-member squad, has featured in 28 DStv Premiership League games this season, scoring twice. His potential move is testament to his growing reputation in South African football, in what promises to be a closely watched transfer battle.

The coming weeks will be crucial in determining where Moremi will ply his trade next season, as each Gauteng giant look to bolster their squads for the upcoming campaign.

Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment but the club had not responded by the time this story was published.
