Orlando Pirates' chances to bring in a new defender could be progressing to an advanced stage, the Siya crew understands.
Soccer Laduma had previously reported how Kaizer Chiefs, Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns were all looking at Stellenbosch FC's star players.

Insiders privy to information have indicated that Bucs are particularly focused on strengthening their defence for the coming season.
They are believed to be negotiating for the signature of Stellies defender Thabo Moloisane.
Siya sources have indicated that the former Sundowns development player has attracted the Buccaneers for a while now and that they have been monitoring his progress with the aim to sign him.
"The talks have been going on. That I can assure you. Pirates want to beef up their defence and they feel Thabo (Moloisane) is one of those defenders who could add value to the team.
"You know they are fighting to go back to playing in Africa next season and they will need a good, strong, well-balanced squad and adding Thabo is part of that," the source told Soccer Laduma.
A second Siya source added that it won't be easy to prize the player because Stellenbosch rate him highly.
"As much as the talks are going on and Pirates want to land the player, it won't be easy. After all, Stellenbosch are also a good team and the only main difference would be the magnitude of playing for Pirates with its rich history compared to Stellenbosch.
"But, yes, talks are at an advanced stage and things are looking good for Pirates as we speak," the source added.
Soccer Laduma contacted both Pirates and Stellenbosch for comment but no response was received by the time this story was published.
