Dash, as Monare is known in football circles, has always maintained that he would like to stay with the Buccaneers as he is happy at the club.
Last year, the midfielder had his contract extended by one year, after the original two-year deal he signed on arrival from the now defunct Bidvest Wits in 2020, expired.
According to sources, a new one-year deal is being bandied about for the 33-year-old with a view to keep him in coach Jose Riveiro's team in the new season.

"Thabang Monare is likely to have his contract with Pirates extended. The club is happy with his commitment and work-rate and the progress he made this past season. It's likely to be a new one-year deal with an option," said the source.
Monare featured in 21 matches in all competitions for Bucs in the 2022/23 campaign and scored one goal.
