AmaZulu FC acted swiftly to snatch Rowan Human from right under the noses of Kaizer Chiefs, who were said to be in advanced talks to sign the Bafana Bafana midfielder, the Siya crew has been informed.
As reported by this publication three weeks ago, a number of clubs, including the Naturena-based outfit, Usuthu, the Mother City duo of Cape Town Spurs and Cape Town City, Sekhukhune United as well as SuperSport United had expressed their interest in the 22-year-old.
However, at the time, it was Amakhosi who were in the lead for the player's services, with talks between the club's hierarchy and Human's camp understood to be an advanced stage, according to Siya sources.
In a sudden turn of events, talks between the Soweto giants and Human's camp stalled, which saw the KwaZulu-Natal side step in with the club's ambitious owner Sandile Zungu putting his money where his mouth is, making an offer to Maritzburg United, with whom Human is contracted until 2024.
It appears the Team of Choice were satisfied with the offer from their cross-town rivals, which will see the midfielder make the switch to Usuthu, with an announcement expected in the coming days. The former Bidvest Wits starlet is expected to put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
