Reports have been doing the rounds of a possible reunion between Vincent Kompany and Tau. The duo linked up to much success during the Belgian's spell as Anderlecht head coach.
Under Kompany, Tau managed four goals in 14 matches, although their time together was cut short when Brighton opted to recall the 'Lion of Judah' from his loan spell with the club.
Word reaching the Siya crew however is that Al Ahly are not entertaining talk of a reunion.
Well-placed Siya sources have informed the crew that the Egyptian giants are keen on holding onto the 29-year-old beyond the expiry of his contract in June 2024.
As reported by the Siya crew, the Red Eagles are preparing a new and improved offer for Tau to extend his stay with the club.
Tau lifted his sixth trophy since joining Al Ahly in 2021, helping the club to the Egyptian Premier League title. He made 35 appearances, scored nine goals and laid on a further six appearances in this campaign.
