Having decided not to sign any players in January, Orlando Pirates could be closing in on adding an in-form player who has been scoring goals regularly for his team this season.
Despite parting ways with three players in defender Sandile Mthethwa, who has since joined AmaZulu FC as well as wingers Katlego Otladisa and Gilberto who went on loan to Sekhukhune United and Atletico Petro de Luanda respectively, the Buccaneers decided to focus on the players that are already in their squad in the pursuit of more success in the PSL and CAF Champions League.

But for next season, the Soweto giants are expected to make a few tweaks to the squad, with some players understood to have been on the club's radar already as part of the planned changes.
As revealed by the Siya crew, Muzomuhle Khanyi who has been scoring goals in the Motsepe Foundation Championship for fun, has been on the radar of the Buccaneers.
The 25-year-old, who was again at it this past weekend with three goals for Hungry Lions FC in their 3-1 win over Highbury FC, could be nearing a move to the Orlando-based club, according to close sources.
Khanyi is the leading goalscorer in the second-tier league, having taken his tally for the campaign to 15 goals in 17 games after his latest hat-trick.
The former South Africa U20 international netted his first hat-trick of the campaign in December as he spearheaded Lions' 3-2 win over Leruma United.
The in-form player's other goals include braces against University of Pretoria, Casric Stars and Milford FC respectively, and Pirates are believed to have been impressed with his work-rate.
"Muzomuhle Khanyi is playing the best football of his career and he has been scoring goals in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Even before he scored the hat-trick this past weekend, there has been a lot of interest in his services from top flight clubs and it looks like it will be difficult for Hungry Lions to hold onto him beyond this season," said the source.

"Pirates are the club that has showed so much interest in the boy. He has been on their radar since the beginning of the season, and it looks like the club is now preparing to make a formal approach in preparing for next season. Don't be surprised if the boy makes a big move next season," the source said.
As indicated by sources, Stellenbosch FC, SuperSport United, Sekhukhune United, Richards Bay FC and Magesi FC are some of the clubs understood to be interested in Khanyi's services.
