Orlando Pirates are believed to be concerned about Goodman Mosele's lack of progress in the team, with the club understood to be willing to assist the player to rediscover his form.
Mosele joined the Soweto giants as somewhat of a high-profile signing in 2021 after completing a reported R8 million move from Baroka FC. The midfielder had been one of the hottest young talents at the time in Mzansi, having won the PSL's Young Player of the Season award for 2019/20 after his inspiring performances for Bakgaga.
However, things haven't been the same for the star since arriving at the Soweto giants due to lack of regular game-time. This past season, the 23-year-old made only 15 appearances in all competitions, with just one assist, and was a notable absentee from the line-ups for the better part of the second half of the campaign as he last featured in February.
The likes of Miguel Timm, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Thabang Monare have been preferred ahead of him in coach Jose Riveiro's line-ups. Sources close to Bucs have revealed that the Houghton-based outfit is willing to assist the player to return to his best even if it means sending him out on loan to where he is likely to get a more regular run.
"Goodman Mosele's lack of gametime is a cause for concern for Pirates. The club had high hopes for him and so far, things haven't happened as expected for him, although the club is willing to assist him," said a source.
"He is still young and there's still time for him, but the sooner he gets back to the field, the better. There's talk of the club possibly sending him on loan for next season, but that will be decided in the coming days," added the source.
The lanky midfielder is left with two years on his contract with the Buccaneers as he joined on a four-year deal when he arrived two years ago.
Should Mosele stay at Pirates and fight for a spot in the first team?
