Kaizer Chiefs were in the market for a top-quality striker, and despite approaching a few options, they have started the new season without the desired striker in the team.
Siya sources close to the club have indicated that Amakhosi didn't sign a striker because they could not get the player that they ideally wanted to improve the team.

The sources added that head coach Nasreddine Nabi had specific qualities he wanted in a striker. When they felt they could not get that striker, they looked and inquired about other strikers, but those options didn't fit the bill.
"There were two main strikers that the coach had recommended since he took over the job. It was Fiston Mayele and Tumisang Orebonye. But first priority was Mayele. The club did all they could to get him but some logistics, including finances, made it difficult for the move to happen. And then for Orebonye it was about his contract at AS FAR Rabat which is former coach Nabi's team that was watertight for him to move. These are the main reasons why the club could not sign a striker during the just closed transfer window period. But they are working hard behind the scenes to make sure they sign a striker in January," the Siya source stated.

A second Siya source stated that although there were other strikers that the team inquired about, like South African Dino Ndlovu, and Kenyan player Michael Olunga, nothing happened as they were not the preferred players for the coach.
"Apart from these mentioned above, there were other strikers which were offered to the club by agents and scouts but their profiles didn't match those the coach wanted for the team. That's why at the end of the day no striker was signed. They didn't want to sign just for the sake of signing but to get a striker that the coach and the club will be happy with," the second source stated.
Chiefs' search for a top-quality striker continues, with the club working hard behind the scenes to secure the right player during the January transfer window. The focus remains on finding a striker who meets the specific qualities desired by coach Nabi.
