Orlando Pirates are monitoring defenders as they may be looking at making a new signing to improve their backline, the Siya crew understands.
Bucs already have a few options in their defensive department, but Siya sources have indicated that the Houghton based club could be looking at Zimbabwean defender Frank Makarati who plays for Harare based side Dynamos FC.

The source added that since the season is over in Zimbabwe, Pirates may be inviting the Warriors defender for trials soon.
"For now, Pirates are interested in him and what they want to do is invite him for trials. They are not signing him straight away," said the Siya source.
"Yes, they have monitored him while he was playing for Dynamos but they want to see how he can do when in the presence of other Pirates players. The league has just ended in Zimbabwe so I can't say when he will be traveling to South Africa but they are working on that," the source told Soccer Laduma.
A second Siya source added that the 29-year-old defender who is among the players tipped for the Zimbabwe Player of the Season award is thought to have the right character to bolster Pirates' defence.
"Yes, they have other central defenders but they want to beef up their defence and that's why they are looking at players like Frank (Makarati). He has experience," said the second Siya source.
"He has played for Dynamos since 2021 and he is part of the Zimbabwe national team. Pirates need a player like that so that when one of their experienced defenders is out injured or suspended then they have the right replacement at all times.
"So, we will hear when he is coming for trials," the source observed.
Makarati has been a regular for Dynamos, even though he did miss a few games due to injury and suspension.
Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for comment but no response was received while this story was prepared.
