EPL Club To Fight For Teboho Mokoena?

EPL Club To Fight For Teboho Mokoena?

Bafana Bafana star Teboho Mokoena has been linked with AS Monaco plus an unnamed Premier League club, and now the Siya crew has been informed which team it is in England.

Soccer Laduma had exclusively revealed the Ligue 1 and English interest in the Mamelodi Sundowns player, and now Mokoena is returning home to South Africa after finishing third in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Siya sources have now indicated that the Premier League club that is interested in Mokoena is AFC Bournemouth.

"They didn't want to say which club is interested in him in England because they didn't want to disturb the talks but so far what we know is that it's Bournemouth. They have made inquires about the player and now it's all up to the Sporting Director to make the decision concerning offers and the value of the player," said the Siya source.

"Obviously he won't come cheap. He is one of the most priced players not only at Sundowns but in South Africa as well. But knowing English teams they will fight for what they believe is an asset," the source observed.

A second Siya source added that they are looking at a club where Mokoena will go and play regularly and not just sit on the bench.

"As much as they don't want to stand in the player's way for an overseas move, they want to make sure that he goes to a league and team where he will be a regular because that would affect his place in the national team as well. They want him to go to a club where he will improve his game and not drop in form because of not playing. So Bournemouth are interested in him and they have made inquires but all will depend if the chance is there for him to go and play. That's the most important condition for him to move to Europe," the source told Soccer Laduma.

Mokoena has starred for Bafana Bafana at Afcon, even though he missed two penalties, scored one (all in different shootouts), and scored a brilliant free-kick against Morocco in the quarter-finals.
