Gyimah Could Be Set For European Move

Experienced Ghanaian defender Edwin Gyimah could soon have a chance to reignite his career overseas, with sources linking him to Kazakhstan Premier League side FC Astana.

Gyimah, 33, has been without a club since parting ways with Sekhukhune United at the end of last season.

The versatile player, who has also featured for PSL giants Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United, has been on the lookout for a new challenge to continue his football journey.

At the start of the year, Gyimah appeared poised for a fresh start with Magesi FC.

However, after negotiations fell through due to unforeseen complications, he returned to Johannesburg to explore alternative options.

According to sources close to the situation, Gyimah's representatives, Moscow Africa Renewal Project, are believed to be working to secure him a deal with FC Astana.

The Kazakh outfit is understood to be interested in acquiring the experienced defender, who would bring leadership and defensive solidity to their squad.

If Gyimah finalises the move, it will mark his second stint abroad, following his 2017 transfer from Pirates to Helsingborgs IF in Sweden.

The potential deal presents a valuable opportunity for him to revive his career on the international stage and showcase his abilities at a competitive level.

As negotiations continue, Gyimah remains hopeful that a move to Kazakhstan will provide the perfect platform to extend his playing career and make a meaningful impact in European football.

"It's true, Edwin Gyimah could soon be leaving for overseas. An opportunity has been presented for him to travel to Kazakhstan where a club called Astana is interested in his services. If all goes well, he will leave before the end of the week," said the source.
