Orlando Pirates' pre-season plans are in overdrive, with the Soweto giants understood to be closing in on a new acquisition to add to the team.
With the Buccaneers set for a pre-season camp in Spain where they are scheduled to play three competitive matches between July 12 and July 19, the club has been expected to appoint a new coach to be the second assistant in Jose Riveiro's technical team following the departure of Sergio Almenara at the end of the season.

But for now, the cup double champions are linked with performance analyst Devon O'Brien, as per reports in local media.
O'Brien has done well as a performance analyst for Stellenbosch FC where he has contributed to the club's success, including this past season's Carling Knockout triumph.

With Pirates understood to be finalising their plans, O'Brien is one of the new recruits expected to be announced at the club, along with more changes including in the playing personnel, in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, O'Brien has confirmed parting ways with Stellies on his official X account.
