Stellenbosch are understood to be weighing up a former Kaizer Chiefs man to replace the departed Sibongiseni Mthethwa who joined Amakhosi.
In the space of two seasons, Stellies have lost three of their key players.
Mthetwa and Ashley Du Preez joined Chiefs, while Junior Mendieta made his way to the nation's capital by joining Mamelodi Sundowns.

Impressively, the Winelands outfit has managed to bounce back thanks to their flourishing youth academy, as well as their eye for talent – be it locally or abroad.
Continuing with their impressive recruitment, the Siya crew has been led to believe that Stellies have set their sights on Chiefs development product Darrel Matsheke who is currently a free agent after parting ways with Moroka Swallows.
Matsheke, the Siya crew understands, is viewed as the ideal replacement for 'Ox' as Mthethwa is known.
The 24-year-old was promoted to the Chiefs first team in 2020 having come through the club's youth system and featured for the Glamour Boys before enjoying two separate loan stints with Uthongathi and Swallows respectively.
Given that he is a free agent, Matsheke is not bound by the transfer window that recently slammed shut and would be able to join coach Steve Barker's side immediately if the two parties were to reach an agreement.
