The Siya crew has been informed that midfielder Thabo Cele will stay in Poland for another season. Previously linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, the central midfielder appears to have done enough to get his club Radiomak to exercise the option in his contract.
His current deal with the club expires at the end of June and, after making 20 appearances during the past season, indications are that the side will keep him for another campaign and a decision on his future there will be made at the end of the 2023/24 season.
According to information received by Soccer Laduma, Cele is determined to stay in Europe as he hopes to make a move to a bigger league in future. And at age 26, he believes there is still time on his side to achieve his dream of playing in one of the big leagues.
Amakhosi made two attempts to sign the KZN Academy product, but it's understood that they have not shown much of an interest this time around, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Arthur Zwane's future at the club. It's believed that the head coach won't be in the hotseat next season and interest in the midfielder is believed to have died down.
"As far as I know, he will be staying in Poland," a source close to the player told this publication.
Is Cele capable of succeeding in a stronger European league?
