While not actively searching for a buyer, the Siya crew has been informed that AmaZulu FC are open to offers for utility player Tercious Malepe.
The Orlando Pirates youth product and former junior national team captain has fallen down the pecking order and appears to now be a fringe player under coach Pablo Franco Martin. He has not featured for Usuthu since September, an obvious setback considering he managed 19 appearances last season and had finished strong by starting all of the club's final four matches.
But with Martin preferring other players either in defence or midfield where Malepe can operate, Soccer Laduma understands new AmaZulu sporting director Pedro Dias has put out word that the 26-year-old is available.
Dias was announced in his new role in October following a drawn-out process of interviews with several other candidates from around the world, including a few South African administrators as well.
Word reaching the Siya crew is that Dias could look to bring in reinforcements in January to strengthen the side, while the KwaZulu-Natal outfit might also let go of a players that are considered surplus to requirements.
Malepe currently finds himself out of favour and is expected to be high up the list of potential exits, but only if the offer suits all parties involved.
In the past, the versatile player has been wanted by Kaizer Chiefs following a short stint in Ukraine between 2020 and 2021.
