Sekhukhune United midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo has opened up on the failed move to Kaizer Chiefs and what eventually attracted him about Babina Noko.
Chiefs, by Mokotjo's admission, were in negotiations to sign the former Brentford midfielder in the off-season after he returned to the country following his exit from Major League Soccer outfit Cincinnati in 2021.
However, the 32-year old, who spent over a decade abroad, was surprisingly signed by Sekhukhune instead and has confirmed that his talks with Chiefs "were not fruitful".

Mokotjo says he liked the approach from the Limpopo side.
"Talks weren't fruitful, they were not fruitful at all and ja, I can't really say much about it. But I had a good feeling with Sekhukhune and how they approached me, they were very straight," Mokotjo told journalists at the club's open media day.
"They believed in the capabilities that I have and the person that I am. So it was on and off the pitch thing, so when that happens you get a good feeling and the only thing I can do now is stay in the present.
"Stay focused on creating even more history for the club and repay the faith that they showed in me," he said.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder went on to reveal who he consulted and what he looked for at Sekhukhune before he put pen to paper.
Mokotjo also stressed that at this stage of his career, the move was not influenced by the financial aspect alone.
"I first looked at the players, I saw a good mixture of players, a good balance and I spoke to 'Bibo' Thandani Ntshumayelo about the coach (Brandon Truter), I called coach Morgan (Gould) too and they were very positive about him (Truter)," he revealed.
"His structure and I could see myself you know, it's not just about what people say, you should see yourself fitting into the team and I could see myself fitting into this team.
"And obviously getting game time, getting back to the thick of things, being on the pitch, working hard. It's the little things now for me. I never came back for financial purposes, even though that's important. I came back to get my career back on track, it doesn't matter where I do it," he added.
Sekhukhune will host Chiefs in their upcoming DStv Premiership clash on Sunday afternoon.
