Young Banyana Banyana star, Linda Motlhalo, is taking the next step in her career after completing a move to Europe from her previous team in China.
Motlhalo, who is still just 21, was part of the Banyana side that made history by reaching the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France, and will now be looking forward to her first step into European football after joining Djurgården in Sweden.
The midfielder has signed a two-year deal with the Swedish outfit after leaving Beijing BG Phoenix in the Chinese Super League, and will be heading over to her new club as soon as her visa is finalised.
DIF's newest signing told the club's official website, "I am very happy and expectant to come to Stockholm and play for Djurgården… I look forward to new experiences and to experiencing a new atmosphere. I know it's a good league with sharp competition. I also know that Djurgården has historically been a good team even though it was really tough last season.
"I hope I can join in and contribute to getting us higher up in the table this year. Hopefully we can join the upper tier… I need to get my visa ready but as soon as it's done I'll go to Sweden. I'm looking forward to it."
The Banyana star's sport chief at DIF, Jean Balawo, referred to the youngster as 'a leader on the pitch' and hopes to utilise the experience she has gained from her time in China and in the United States of America with Houston Dash.
The season will get underway next month as Motlhalo takes aim at making her debut for the club as soon as possible.
