Bafana Bafana international, Lars Veldwijk, looks set for a surprise move away from the Netherlands as he eyes the next step of his career…
The 28-year-old has scored 28 league goals over the past 18 months for Sparta Rotterdam as he played a major role in helping them gain promotion back into the Eredivisie, but has found starting berths hard to come by this in the first half of the 2019/20 season.
Now, with the player seemingly looking to expand his horizons, reports in Holland have suggested that he is closing in on a move to join South Korean giants, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, as they look to add some firepower to their strikeforce.
According to media outlets in Europe, Veldwijk could secure a move to Jeonbuk in the coming days as they aim to make him the latest of a number of new signings this month, though it remains to be seen whether a move will be finalised or not.
Jeonbuk are the same South Korean side that humbled Mamelodi Sundowns at the 2016 Club World Cup after Masandawana had won the CAF Champions League, with the Korean outfit beating them 4-1 in the fifth-place play-off game of that edition.
