It's been in the works for some time, and now it's been confirmed that a Bafana Bafana striker has completed a move away from his current club in Europe into a new continent.
It was reported recently that Lars Veldwijk was on the verge of an interesting switch to South Korean giants, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, from Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands, and now the club has announced that his deal is done.
The 28-year-old has scored 28 league goals over the past 18 months for Sparta as he played a major role in helping them gain promotion back into the Eredivisie last season, but has found starting berths hard to come by in the first half of the 2019/20 campaign and it was revealed recently that he had left training to pursue a move elsewhere.
Now, as he joins the seven-time K-League winners, he'll be hoping to hit the ground running at their training camp in Spain before their 2020 season gets underway next month in Jeonju.
At this point in time there has been no confirmation regarding how long Veldwijk has signed for, nor what the transfer fee was that was paid for his services.
