Kamohelo Mokotjo played a vital role for Brentford in their Boxing Day victory over Swansea City yesterday, and the Bafana Bafana man could be on course for the English Premier League.
Mokotjo was handed a starting berth once again on Thursday afternoon as Brentford hosted the Welsh side in their penultimate game of 2019, putting in a fine display in the centre of the park as they went on to a record a 3-1 win.
The Bees now find themselves in third place with 40 points in the English Championship after 24 games, three points clear in the playoff positions and with the third-best goal difference in the entire league.
While they are still eight points away from the automatic promotion positions – Leeds United are second with 48 points – Brentford are on a tremendous run of form of late, and only league leaders, West Bromwich Albion, have scored more goals than they have in 2019/20 so far.
No player on the field had more possession (7.1%) than the Bafana international at Griffin Park on Thursday afternoon, while he also made more passes (70) and accurate passes (67) than any of the other players on the field, that's 96% pass completion.
Mokotjo also made three key passes in the game, bettered by only one player, and will have been delighted to walk away with three more points as Thomas Frank's side continue their push for a spot in the top-flight come 2020/21.
