South African Under-23 players are being inspired by their teammate and leader on the field in their dream of qualifying for the next Olympic Games.
David Notoane's side still has a chance of qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, despite losing to Egypt on Tuesday, and failing to advance to the U23 Africa Cup of Nations final.
Mzansi's youngsters will qualify, should they win their third/fourth place play-off match against Ghana today.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Kobamelo Kodisang lauded team captain Tercious Malepe's influence in their attempt of qualifying for the Olympics.
"Qualifying for the Olympics will certainly be a dream come true for both me and my teammates. Our captain, Tercious Malepe, is the only player in this current Under-23 squad who has featured in the previous Rio Olympic Games. He has been instrumental in inspiring the team to fight for qualification for next year's edition and everyone in the team is just highly motivated in achieving that goal," said Kodisang, as quoted on SAFA's official website.
"The coaching staff has been working really hard in getting ready for this matchup. We all know what is at stake here and we will give it our utmost best to secure the desired win," the youngster added.
