Venue: Athlone Stadium

With coach Steve Barker embarking his 250th match in charge, defender Thabo Moloisane made his 50th outing for the club,

The Maroons didn't take time to get going but hit the front after just two minutes through a finish into the bottom-corner from Fawaaz Basadien following a neat combination of passes.

Galaxy attempted a quick response to going behind moments thereafter with a promising free-kick by Marks Munyai, but he nestled well over the top.

More chances came for the bottom dwellers in the opening quarter and had Dzenan Zajmovic go wide from a clever angle after meeting Victor Letsoalo's assist.

The Rockets still pushed midway through the half and were inches to levelling when Lindokuhle Mbatha's header from Sphiwe Mahlangu's cross bounced off the upright.

Galaxy turned to the bench ahead of the second period with Nkosikhona Radebe introduced in the place of striker Zajmovic.

The change in personnel didn't bother the host who looked to go further ahead through a smart effort from Devon Titus, but he struck the woodwork.

Not too much was given in the resumption as a lot of the play were tightly contested and didn't feature the string of moments from the first spell.

Stellies were pretty comfortably and looked on course for victory, but it didn't turn out that way as the Rockets had other ideas.

Substitute Radebe got wind of a delivery inside the final quarter and got the better of Sage Stephens to level matters and ultimately shared the spoils.
