BREAKING: Betway Prem Prize Money Revealed

BREAKING: Betway Prem Prize Money Revealed

The prize money for the inaugural Betway Premiership season has now been announced by the PSL, as first reported by the Siya crew last month.

In July, it was announced by the PSL that Betway, who are known to be South Africa's leading online sports and gaming brand, has become the Premier Division's new title sponsor.

At the time, PSL chairman Dr Irvin Khoza spoke glowingly of how the new deal has become a major boost to the sport, with Betway having taken over DStv who also did well as the League's sponsors in recent seasons.

The prize money for the League winners has been set at R20 million, as confirmed by the PSL chairman during an announcement at the PSL headquarters in Parktown, Johannesburg on Wednesday morning.

For now, the chairman has opted to reveal only the prize money for the winners, with no mention of how much all the other teams will each be getting at the end of the season in May.

Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who are in second place, will be aiming to keep up in the title chase when they host Polokwane City at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday night, while Stellenbosch FC and TS Galaxy are the other two teams that will be in action at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Wednesday.
