The 24-year-old's hard work has been rewarded with a call up to Bafana for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo, and former Pirates midfielder Hleza Mofedi says the Soweto-born defender is by far the best player at the Soweto giants this season.
Sesane walked away with the Man of the Match award as Bucs defeated Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on the weekend, and Hleza Mofedi spoke to Soccer Laduma about his progress.
"For me, the player that has impressed the most is Thabiso Sesane, the centre-back. He is a quality player who will achieve a lot in his football because he's got age on his side. I like the boy a lot and he seems to be very disciplined and focused. The way he is so talented and calm in the way he plays, he reminds me of (Mbulelo) Mabizela. He is a good reader of the game, and he knows what he is doing. The boy makes me so happy about watching Pirates, as a former player of the club. His combination with (Olisa) Ndah excels, and they make you want to watch the team. In them, Pirates have very good centre-backs," said Mofedi, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.

Meanwhile, Sesane says he has been working towards getting the recognition of the national team.
"I would like to first thank them for the opportunity they gave me. I am happy to be here. I have been working hard to get here and it's been my dream to represent my country. All I can do now is continue working hard," he said, speaking to journalists in Gqeberha.
