The 17-year-old defied age in his senior Pirates debut as he dished out a confident performance in their 1-1 draw to Royal AM midweek.
The School of Excellence development product has been making huge strides in the club's DStv Diski side, which led to his inclusion in the first team setup.
Bucs captain innocent Maela has urged him to keep his head down and continue working despite all the noise surrounding the teenager.
"I think Ratomo had a good game, it was a good debut for him. The way we train, it is not a surprise that a player who comes in and makes his debut plays at the level that he did. We do our best to help the youngsters keep their heads down and work as hard as they can, and try to improve in each and every game. It's a start for him but he knows that he needs to keep his head down and keep working. We are happy for him, and we hope that he continues like this," Maela told journalists at the Rand Stadium.
His sentiments were echoed by Kermit Erasmus, who himself shot onto the scene as a prodigious teenager at SuperSport United.
"[He is] an amazing kid, great talent. I think the media needs to calm down in hyping him. Let him play football, give him the time to express himself. Let's not put pressure on him, he's a great talent. Let's protect him as a human being and give him the freedom to express himself," Erasmus said of his young teammate.
