Tinkler: We Demoralised Cosmos

Coach Eric Tinkler was delighted with Orlando Pirates' 3-1 victory over Jomo Cosmos in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday. Pirates were in control of proceedings throughout the clash and eased to victory in the end, and Tinkler believes it could have been an even bigger drubbing. The previous encounter between the sides saw the Buccaneers thrash Ezenkosi 5-0. Tinkler said: "It was a fantastic performance in the first half. We started exceptionally well. We wanted to put them under immediate pressure, because I think they were still feeling the effects of the previous game. "I thought that if we start well, that would demoralise them, and we did. We created an early goal. We should have been 2-0 up after five minutes. With the chances we created in the first half, we could have at least been 5-0 up at the break. "The way we conceded the goal was a bit sloppy. We gave him way too much time and space to turn and strike at goal, which was the disappointing part. "We managed to get the third early in the second half, which was extremely important. "Overall I'm very pleased with the result and that we are moving on to the next round."
