Mpumalanga Black Aces progressed to the next round of the Nedbank Cup after beating Maritzburg United 2-0 in their Last 16 tie.
Denis Masina squandered a glorious chance to hand Aces the lead in the 14th minute, as the winger fired straight at Tawfeeq Salie from point-blank range.
Aces were then awarded a penalty after Jayiya was brought down by Mario Booysens. Collins Mbesuma stepped up and made no mistake from 12-yards out, 1-0.
Maritzburg started seeing more of the ball as the half progressed and nearly snatched an equaliser in the 43rd minute but Walters produced a fine save to keep the visitors at bay.
Muhsin Ertugral's got off to an encouraging start in the second half and nearly extended their lead in the 49th minute but Mbesuma failed to connect with Jayiya's low cross.
Aces continued to push for a second goal and were nearly rewarded in the 57th minute but Aubrey Modiba's volley sailed just wide of the upright.
Maritzburg nearly leveled matters in the 63rd minute as Gregory Maasdorp's looping header sailed agonisingly wide, after being picked out by Kurt Lentjies.
Walters came to Aces' rescue once again in the 75th minute, as the veteran shot-stopper pulled off a fine low save to deny Pentjie Zulu.
However, Aces sealed the win in stoppage time thanks to a fine low free-kick from Limbikani Mzava that beat Salie at his near post.
