New Orlando Pirates player Issa Sarr was handed the 'man of the match' accolade following his performance in the heart of the Buccaneer's midfield after beating Bidvest Wits 2-0 in an MTN8 semifinal, first leg match on Sunday.
Second half goals from Siyabonga Sangweni and Thabo Matlaba handed Pirates the win, but it was Sarr's duties in the midfield that kept his team compact and tight in defence.
Speaking after the game Sarr said he was happy with his side's performance, especially against a tough Wits side.
"I am happy with the game and my teammates," said Sarr.
"We really needed this.
"It is not over, though, we have to win our home game.
"It was a physical game.
"Wits is not an easy team.
"When you come here to Bidvest stadium you know it is going to be tough.
"We worked hard and we deserved the win."
Sarr concluded by saying that the Buccaneers is now his home and he has settled well.
"I am happy at Pirates, it is my family now and I am settled," added the midfielder.
