The news comes as very little surprise as Pirates and Sundowns - last season's DStv Premiership winners and runners-up - have served up some scintillating clashes in recent times.
It would be the second occasion that these sides meet, having played in the DStv Premiership a fortnight ago.
"Match tickets went on sale at 15h00 on Thursday, 28 September 2023 and were sold out by 09h00 on Friday, 29 September 2023.
"The MTN8 final will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 07 October 2023 (18h00). Gates will open at 14h00 and ticket holders are requested to arrive early to ensure smooth entry.
"The PSL is working closely with the South African Police Service and several other safety and security role players to ensure a safe and secure event. As part of the stringent security measures around the stadium, people engaging in illegal behaviour such as ticket peddling will face immediate arrest. There will be no tickets sold at the stadium. Members of the public who are interested in purchasing hospitality packages can contact Moses Mabhida Stadium via email on: Musawakhe.Cele@durban.gov.za
"The match will be LIVE on the SuperSport PSL Channel (202) and SABC Sport," the statement said in part.
