Platinum Stars coach, Allan Freese, tells the Siya crew that he welcomes the MTN8 semi-final draw against Kaizer Chiefs.
Last season's Wafa Wafa winning coach, Freese said the win against the Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend boosted their chances of defending their MTN8 crown.
"We're defending champions and there's pressure from all the clubs to do well against us. I'm glad we stood our ground on Saturday and managed to win. Sundowns are a great team and they didn't win the league trophy by fluke. I had to tell my players to be organised and that facing Sundowns wasn't going to be easy. Tell me which team parks the bus and scores two goals. I hear people saying that we parked the bus… we didn't because we attacked them," said Freese.
Although Dikwena are set to face off against Amakhosi for the MTN8 semi-final first leg on the weekend of August 1617 and the second leg on August 2324, Freese says they're now focusing on their first 2014/15 PSL game against Chippa United in Port Elizabeth.
"We are aware that this is a cup competition and anything is possible when it comes to opponents. I welcome the draw against Chiefs. We now have to work hard and be careful in our planning for this game," added Freese.
The Chilli Boys will welcome Dikwena at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, August 9 at 18:00.
