Bidvest Wits captain, Sibusiso Vilakazi, is excited at the prospect of playing against Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals of the MTN8 competition.
Wits snuck through the quarterfinals after a penalty shootout win against Bloemfontein Celtic, and were drawn against the Buccaneers in the semis.
As the two teams now prepare to face each other for the first time since last season's Nedbank Cup final, which Pirates won, 'Vila' says that game is already in the past.
When asked about the MTN8, Vilakazi said, "It's an opportunity for us to get to another final, we hoping that we can put ourselves in a good position in the first leg, it's up to us as Bidvest to put ourselves into that position."
Meanwhile, on the influx of new players and prospect of facing Pirates, he added, "We're still seeing how the new guys want to play, and we're hoping they'll start to gel soon. We think that they can help take us forward and help us win things once they're settled.
"We lost to Pirates in the final of the Nedbank Cup last year, but that's gone now, it's now time for us to do something about that. It doesn't matter if we're at home first or away, we know that we have to get a result either way. As a team we have to push and make sure that we're all going in the right direction."
First leg semi-final fixtures will fall on the weekend of 1617 August, with the second legs scheduled for weekend of 2324 August.
