GladAfrica Championship Wrap 21-22 September

Polokwane City 4-0 Richards Bay

Polokwane City bagged their second win of the season after hammering Richards Bay 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Rise and Shine raced to a three-goal lead in the first stanza, with the fourth goal coming in stoppage time and they went up to fifth on the log with eight points while Richards Bay were stuck in 13th spot with four points.

Pretoria Callies 1-2 JDR Stars

JDR Stars moved up to third on the log after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Pretoria Callies in the Tshwane derby on Wednesday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Kaizer Chiefs loanee Keletso Sifama broke the deadlock for Callies midway through the first stanza but only for Malebogo Modise to get the equaliser for JDR ten minutes later.

Ishmael Wadi snatched the winner for the Hammer Boyz in the 64th minute.

Free State Stars 2-1 TS Sporting

Free State Stars climbed up to second spot on the table after beating TS Sporting 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Goble Park.

Ea Lla Koto clinched their third victory of the season, which saw them clock ten points, just three points behind leaders Platinum City Rovers while Abantu Bemthetho dropped down to eighth on the log with seven points.

Venda Football Academy 0-0 Jomo Cosmos

Jomo Cosmos remain winless after they were held to a goalless stalemate by Venda Football Academy on Wednesday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.

Ezenkosi got only their second point of the season, that moved them above bottom side Pretoria Callies, in 15th place on the log while Venda FA moved up to 11th on the table with six points.

Uthongathi 0-1 Platinum City Rovers

Platinum City Rovers remained unbeaten at the top of the table after a late 1-0 win over Uthongathi on Tuesday afternoon at Princess Magogo Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Mtshweni netted the winner for City Rovers in the last nine minutes, as they opened a three-point gap at the top of the log.

University of Pretoria 3-2 Cape Town All Stars

University of Pretoria clinched their second win of the season after edging Cape Town All Stars in a five-goal thriller on Tuesday afternoon at ABSA Tuks Stadium.

Samuel Julies broke the deadlock for AmaTuks just after the half-hour mark and All Stars got the equaliser just before the hour-mark.

Sanele Barns and Luvuyo Phewa got two goals for the hosts to give them a 3-1 lead and the visitors netted a consolation goal in stoppage time.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 1-1 Black Leopards

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and Black Leopards remained in the bottom half of the log after playing to a 1-1 draw in the Limpopo derby on Tuesday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.

Nicolas Motloung scored for TTM while Tiklas Thutlwa was on target for Lidoda Duvha and Tshakhuma moved up to 12th on the log with five points while Leopards moved up to tenth with on the table with six points.

Cape Town Spurs 1-1 Hungry Lions

Cape Town Spurs' search for their first win of the season continued after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hungry Lions on Tuesday afternoon at Parow Park.

Following a goalless first stanza, Angolan striker Diassonama Bunga broke the deadlock for Spurs within a minute from the restart but the hosts were denied their first win after Lions equalised in the 65th minute and earned his side the share of the spoils.
