GladAfrica Championship Wrap

GladAfrica Championship Wrap

While JDR Stars and Cape Town All Stars secured two-goal advantages over Bizana Pondo Chiefs and Polokwane City respectively, Jomo Cosmos were held to a 1-1 draw by Cape United during another exciting round of GladAfrica Championship fixtures.

Furthermore, Richards Bay FC surprised Pretoria Callies by overpowering them 2-1 in Gauteng, where Sakhile Hlongwa and Ketleho Maphathe did the damage.

We Hunt to Kill were no match for the in-form Hammer Boys, who blasted home three goals via Bafana Kali, Tshepo Mokhabi and Mziwokuthula Zimu - to reach the log's summit with this 3-1 success!

Ayanda Mvambi netted a penalty for Bizana as the Eastern Cape side continue to struggle at a higher level.

Thanks to a goal in each half by Ronald Maarman and Dillon Solomons, without reply, Igugu Lekapa stunned the previously unbeaten Rise and Shine at Parow Park.

Both sides are level on eleven points each and with matches coming thick and fast, it's anybody's guess as to who's going to take full advantage and remain in contention.

At Olen Park Stadium, Cape United fought back from a goal down to secure a good away point against Jomo Cosmos with Molemo Mekoa's equaliser.

Royal AM and Steenberg United played out a tough 2-2 in KZN.

Sibusiso Masina and Neo Marks were on target for Floyd Mogale's side, while Lesvin Stoffels and Robin Baadjies gave coach, Nasief Morris, something to smile about following three successive losses.

Just when rock-bottom Cape Town Spurs thought that they'd bagged their opening win after Ashley Cupido's early goal against Free State Stars, Sihle Gum netted in injury time to level matters at 1-1.

Uthongathi FC and Sekhukhune United are both neck-and-neck, three points behind JDR and Jomo Cosmos, after a similar result at Princess Magogo Stadium.

Thabang Sibanyoni hit the target for Babina Noko before Khethukuthula Ndlovu made certain that the Cane Cutters would seal a second draw in a row.

The match between University of Pretoria and TS Sporting was stopped due to lightning but once play resumed, Sporting managed to run out 2-1 winners at the Tuks Stadium.
