Richards Bay FC have terminated the contract of coach Simo Dladla due to poor results which sees the club in danger of losing a qualification spot for the play-offs.
The Natal Rich Boys were top of the GladAfrica Championship log for ten weeks and shocked South Africa when they knocked Kaizer Chiefs out of the Nedbank Cup.
A string of poor performances led to the side dropping positions and are currently sitting in fourth place with one game left before the conclusion of the domestic league.
Simo Dladla, confirming the news of his sacking, revealed reasons behind the the team's decline in the GladAfrica Championship.
"Yes it's true, they terminated my contract yesterday," Dladla confims to the Siya crew.
"We had a good season which then resulted in us getting a lot of spotlight. Players got approached and they lost focus. Management tried to keep them focused but it wasn't easy.
"It affected our selection, we had to try, but unfortunately it didn't work."
Dladla says he is grateful to club's boss Jomo Biyela for his support and he won't be rushing to find a new club as he wants to rest after a very stressful season.
"I'm grateful to the chairman, he gave me everything I needed. I've done so well there, even though I didn't help the club to promotion, I don't have regrets. I will use this time to rest until I'm ready to coach again," he added.
