Swallows get their promotion/relegation campaign underway against Cape Town All Stars on Wednesday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Teams: Swallows FC v Cape Town All Stars
Date: 01 June 2022
Swallows finished 15th on the log in the DStv Premiership after playing to a 2-2 draw with Kaizer Chiefs in their last match, although even maximum points were not going to be enough after TS Galaxy won their match against Chippa United.
The Birds will be playing their home games at Lucas Moripe Stadium as their regular home venue Dobsonville Stadium is undergoing pitch resurfacing.
All Stars, on the other hand, had a bad start in the play-offs after suffering a 3-1 defeat to University of Pretoria in their opening game on Sunday.
Allan Freese's charges will be under pressure to get their first points, as they already sit three points behind AmaTuks going into their second match.
The last time the sides met was in the 2015/16 GladAfrica Championship campaign where Igugu Lekapa won the first round battle 2-0 and held the Birds to 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture.
