The Mother City outfit have won the tournament once in 2018 under former coach Benni McCarthy.
In a contrasting tale, AmaZulu have enjoted good start to the season, but lost for the first time after narrowly going down 1-0 against Golden Arrows on Wednesday evening.
Usuthu edged Cape Town City 2-1 in the league already two weeks ago but they will be wary of the Citizens' cup pedigree after they were knocked out of this tournament at this stage last season by the same side.
