After starting the season with back-to-back wins over Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United, Royal AM have failed to win their next three encounters.
They suffered successive losses to Stellenbosch and Royal AM, before playing to a 2-2 draw with Marumo Gallants over the weekend.
Maritzburg, meanwhile, registered their first win at the fifth attempt after defeating Chippa 2-1 on Saturday evening.
The win propelled John Maduka's charges up to ninth spot, three spots behind tonight's opponents although they only have seven points.
Royal AM defeated the Team of Choice in this fixture last season, although Maritzburg did secure the spoils in the reverse fixture.
