The Natal Rich Boyz suffered their first defeat of the season at the weekend after going down 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs, who spent the final hour of the match with 10 men.
The Soweto giants also become the first team to breach the defence of Richards Bay, who registered clean sheets in their opening three games.
Despite the defeat to Chiefs, Pitso Dladla's charges find themselves in fifth place heading into this evening's encounter.
SuperSport, on the other hand, are one three teams yet to taste victory after they extended their winless run to four matches with a goalless draw against Orlando Pirates on Sunday evening.
The draw left Gavin Hunt's charges second-from-bottom but a win could take the side as high as 11th, provided other results go their way on the night.
This will be the first-ever meeting meeting between Richards Bay and SuperSport.
