Teams: Marumo Gallants v Stellenbosch
Date: 06 August 2022
Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

Gallants will be seeking to improve on their tenth-place finish last season under new head coach Romain Folz, who replaced Dan Malesela, whose contract was not renewed at the end of the campaign.
Malesela led Bahlabane Ba Ntwa to the Nedbank Cup final where they narrowly lost 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in extra-time.
Gallants had two major departures, Miguel Timm who joined Orlando Pirates and goalkeeper King Ndlovu who was signed by Maritzburg United.
However, the Limpopo-based side have not made big name signings, as the likes of Koketso More, Lesiba Nku, Samuel Nkomo and Riyaaz Nell all joined from lower league sides.
Stellies, in contrast had an impressive campaign last term, as they missed out on a CAF Confederation Cup spot by goal difference to Royal AM after finishing fourth on the table.
The Western Cape outfit parted ways with key players like Ashley Du Preez and Zitha Kwinika, who were both signed by Kaizer Chiefs while the likes of Waseem Isaacs, Stanley Dimgba, Nathan Sinkala and Granwald Scott left the club. Robyn Johannes retired after he was also released.
Stellies have brought in players like Nhlanhla Mgaga, Vusi Sibiya, Sinethemba Mngomezuku, Sihle Nduli, Fawaaz Basadien, William Likuta and Lasse Sobiech.
