Kerr Unlikely To Stay At Gallants?

Kerr Unlikely To Stay At Gallants?

The Siya crew has been led to believe that the chances of Dylan Kerr continuing at Marumo Gallants next season are slim, even if the club survives relegation.

It's been reported recently by this publication that the former Swallows FC coach is currently working at Gallants without a contract, as revealed by an insider at the club.

Further information coming out of the Limpopo-based outfit revealed that the club has not applied for a work permit for Kerr, and they are not likely to apply for it with a few weeks left in the season.

The 56-year-old was appointed as a consultant to the interim technical team in January after Dan Malesela was placed on suspension by Gallants.

But insiders, including players, have confirmed to Soccer Laduma that he has basically been the head coach. Bahlabane Ba Ntwa have had an incredible run of results in recent months, which has seen them progressing to the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup, while they still have a good chance of avoiding automatic relegation.

Kerr has played a significant part behind the scenes but has not been able to do his work from the bench and the Siya crew has been informed that this will be the arrangement until the end of the season, with Gallants understood to be in a position where they don't want to bind themselves to the coach on a permanent basis just yet.

With no contract in place, the club also doesn't have to pay Kerr for June, which is the time for contracts to end. They will pay him until the end of May under the current arrangement since there is no contract in place.

Gallants chairman Abram Sello was not available for comment at the time of going to print.
