Marumo Gallants coach Dan Malesela has opened up on the challenge in finding an assistant to join his technical team ahead of the new season.
Malesela has returned for another spell with Gallants, taking over from Dylan Kerr who parted ways with the club within weeks of rejoining them, before he could take charge of an official match.

Gallants called on the Malesela to steer the ship and he has been working hard behind the scenes, but he has done so without a right hand man he can bounce ideas off.
"I haven't really got to getting an assistant. I am still thinking about it and looking to see who we can get in the coming week," Malesela told media during the launch of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
"Probably somebody who will add value to what we are doing and somebody who understands the way I want us to do things and the way we should play. Somebody who understands the same style of few. There are very few."
Malesela has never really been given ample time to build solid projects at the clubs he's worked for. So, in taking the Gallants job, the coach has explained that he looked back at his mistakes from the previous spell to see what he needs to work on this time round to be successful and stay longer.

"I am not scared of challenges. That's number one. Number two, you need to say to yourself 'what mistakes have I done previously that led me not to stay at the team for quite some time?' You look at them (the mistakes) and say 'I need to correct them and get this team into a good position'. You must understand that these clubs are owned by people who are very honest and passionate about the game and you really don't want to fail them," Malesela said.
"I really cherish the challenges that comes with these things, particularly when this particular one gives you a chance because not everyone will give you a chance."
Gallants start their season with a home match against Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs at Free State Stadium on September 14.
