Feutmba: Lorch Will Be Better At Sundowns

Feutmba: Lorch Will Be Better At Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns' deadline-day transfer coup, securing Orlando Pirates playmaker Thembinkosi Lorch, sent shockwaves through the South African football landscape. But for Roger Feutmba, a former Downs midfield maestro, who believes the move represents a stroke of genius.

Speaking exclusively to Soccer Laduma, Feutmba extolled the transfer's potential benefits.

"I have seen Lorch play for the past few years and I know he is a quality player. Yes, we know that in recent times he has not been really playing due to different reasons but that does not change him as a player. As long as he can keep focus he will do well."

Feutmba, who was known as a midfield master in his time, predicts significant personal growth for Lorch.

"He will be a better player at Sundowns. That I know. He just has to focus and put his act together and stay disciplined. He has to check on those aspects that is what is important," Feutmba said.

Beyond boosting individual talent, Feutmba emphasizes the strategic rationale behind the acquisition.

"You know as a team we compete in all the competitions both locally and in Africa and to do well it's a must at Sundowns you need quality all round. You need to have a big squad with quality so that when one is out you replace them with yet another quality player so Lorch is a good signing for the club," Feutmba added.

The Cameroonian extends his praise to the entirety of Sundowns' January Transfer Window haul.

"You see Sundowns sign only quality and if they have signed all those players that means they have watched them and they know they are quality which will fit into Sundowns' system and culture and way of play as well. They can not just go overseas and sign a mediocre player. So these players will all add value to the club as they compete in all the tournaments at home and in Africa. They're all good signings for the team," Feutmba concluded.

During the January Transfer Window period the Brazilians have signed Zuko Mdunyelwa, Tashreeq Matthews, Matias Esquivel and Thembinkosi Lorch.Feutmba's insights offer a compelling perspective on Lorch's move, highlighting its potential benefits for both player and club. With the season set to recommence soon, anticipation crackles around the PSL to see Lorch wearing yellow. Fueled by Feutmba's optimism and honed by Sundowns' demanding environment, we will discover whether the star player will rise to the occasion and contribute to the Brazilians' relentless pursuit of silverware.
