Siyabonga Mabena could have a big role to play at Mamelodi Sundowns this season under coach Manqoba Mngqithi, sources have indicated.
Since being promoted to the Sundowns senior team in the 2022/23 season after impressing with his performances in the reserve team, Mabena has been used cautiously in the PSL as the champions want him to grow without putting too much pressure on him.

As reported by the Siya crew, Mabena scored as the Brazilians defeated Sekhukhune United in a friendly match on Wednesday and the goal is said to have boosted the 17-year-old former School of Excellence player.

"Siyabonga Mabena is an asset for Sundowns and the coaches have been managing him well. He is the one for the future. The boy has been working hard in training and he has been improving each day. He is likely to play more under coach Manqoba Mngqithi as the club wants to take his growth to another level," said the source.
Mabena scored one of the goals and was one of the top performers as Sundowns beat Marumo Gallants 4-1 in their DDC match on the weekend.
