Not for the first time in their history, Mamelodi Sundowns will be the only club representing South Africa in the CAF Champions League group stages, and are in pot two ahead of the draw for the round robin phase.
Sundowns hammered La Passe from Seychelles 15-1 on aggregate, to book their spot in the group stages yet again. Sundowns will be in pot two when the group stage draw is done. They are in the same pot as Zamalek, Petro de Luanda and Horoya.

At this stage, 15 clubs have qualified for the group stages and the final spot will be decided between RC Kadiogo from Burkina Faso and DR Congo's AS Vita.
The group stage, to no surprise, is dominated by north African teams, including defending champions Wydad Casablanca and last season's losing finalists Al Ahly.
Petro de Luanda from Angola are part of the 16 clubs in the round robin phase after they knocked out Eric Tinkler's Cape Town City side. Petro knocked Sundowns out of the competition in the quarterfinals last season and are one of the clubs to look out for yet again this season.
