There was a morale-boosting win for Mamelodi Sundowns this week following the team's disappointing exit from the MTN8 last weekend.
With the Brazilians preparing for a fixture in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round next weekend, a friendly match was organised against Sekhukhune United for the team to remain competitive in preparation of the clash.

Siya sources, who watched the match at Chloorkop on Wednesday, confirmed that Manqoba Mngqithi's side emerged victorious courtesy of a goal by youngster Siyabonga Mabena.
"It was a friendly and a very competitive one as both teams played really well. Sekhukhune have a strong team there and Lehlohonolo Seema and his technical team are doing a great job," a source close to the Sundowns camp said.

"It was a morale-boosting win for the team (Sundowns), but the score wasn't the focus. The coach (Mngqithi) and his technical team are still working on the combinations and system and the match was used as preparation for the upcoming Champions League clash and the start of the League. The final score was 1-0 and the young Mabena scored the goal," the source added.
Sundowns play Eswatini outfit Mbabane Swallows on Saturday in an away fixture that will ironically be played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville next Saturday, which is usually the home of the South African champions, with the return leg scheduled for Loftus Versveld on September 20.
