Mamelodi Sundowns may have more options to fill up the assistant coaching roles, first vacated by Steve Komphela and potentially there could be another change in the next year.
Sundowns released Komphela from his contract to join Swallows recently and the Siya crew subsequently reported that set-piece coach Michael Loftman was the favourite to replace the experienced mentor as head coach Rulani Mokwena's assistant for the long-term.

The Brazilians have recently announced that veteran goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene has retired "to pursue the next step in his illustrious football career".
Indications are that Mweene will join the Sundowns technical team as a goalkeeper coach, after he acted in that capacity in place of experienced goalkeeper coach Wendell Robinson for a couple of matches when Robinson was suspended last season. Mweene has been his understudy.
With the position of assistant coach still vacant, Sundowns would have the option of using Robinson in that role, as he could double up as assistant coach and goalkeeper coach, with Mweene's inclusion in the technical team making things easier.
Robinson could also be a long-term successor as a senior coach at the Tshwane giants, should Manqoba Mngqithi eventually leave the club within the next year.
Former Sundowns performance analyst, Musa Matlaba, currently working with Al Wahda head coach Pitso Mosimane, explained in his latest interview on PrimeSportsWithMahlatse that the roles in the modern game are now fluent and it's no longer just about focusing on your specialisation.
"When we started, roles were very specific, structured. So, I would do this as an analyst, KB (Kabelo Rangoaga) was to do this as a fitness coach, the goalkeeper coach would do this, the assistant coach would do this, the head coach would do this," Matlaba said.
"(But) what you can see now, with us it happened naturally while we were in South Africa that our roles became fluent. So, all of us watch our games, watch our opposition.
"So, whether you're a goalkeeper coach, fitness coach, whatever, we all watch the opponents, we all watch our game and we all have to come with details and notes," he explained.

"Because even the goalkeeper coach has to say 'I think the goalkeeper should play this way because the strikers behave like this'. They will press us like this, so the roles are becoming fluent," he added.
Robinson has been working closely with Mokwena, Mngqithi and Komphela and focusing on the team as a whole could be a natural progression for him.
