The addition of Thapelo Maseko at Mamelodi Sundowns is quite an interesting one, giving coach Rulani Mokwena options on where to play him in attack.
At SuperSport, Maseko was often used as a typical left winger, being urged to take players on from the left side and whipping crosses into the box. At Sundowns, however, the system is different and wingers are hardly ever used the way Gavin Hunt utilises them in his style of play.

Sundowns often have a front three and Maseko, who will have tough competition to get into the starting line-up, is likely to feature on either side of main striker Peter Shalulile, as he has the ability to play from both the right and left flank. Should he play from the right flank, it would allow him to cut into play and give him an opportunity to either take a shot at goal or create scoring chances for his teammates.
Former Sundowns midfielder Brent Carelse has given his opinion on where he thinks the Bafana Bafana winger could fit in to coach Rulani Mokwena's team.
"It's difficult to say where he would fit in because Sundowns is a different kettle of fish. But I know he has a lot of speed and I think Sundowns has been looking for a player to play on the left or the right. Obviously, he is another option in those positions. I think that's where he would fit in. He's got a lot of speed and I think the coaches will know how to use him to get the best of him," Carelse said to the Siya crew.

With Sundowns also adding Brazilian attacker Lucas Ribeiro Costa to the team, Mokwena will have some tough decisions on who gets to start in most of the team's matches. Maseko was a regular at SuperSport and was nominated for the DStv Premiership Young Player of the Season award and he will have to work even harder to ensure he gets to play week in and out at Chloorkop.
